How Can This Help Me?
Aquariums require filtration to manage ammonia, nitrate and phosphates. Removing waste from the aquarium is an excellent way to
manage these pollutants and help prevent odors, discoloration and/or algae growth.
Mechanical filtration in aquariums is traditionally provided by filter socks or filter pads. While effective these methods do not actually
remove trapped filtered material from the water column until the sock or media is replaced.
The Automatic Filter Roller improves on mechanical filtration by removing the waste from the water in real time as the fleece is
advanced. As the filter fleece clogs with detritus, uneaten food and organic waste, the water rising within the chamber activates a level
switch which allows the motor to wind on fresh filter material. The water level will then drop until new filter fleece is needed. At the
completion of a filter roll the used roll is discarded and easily replaced with a new roll.
